Short answer
Insurance cashback usually takes 3 to 4 months. We add the money automatically as soon as your insurer confirms everything is in order.
How to qualify
Compare health insurance options via overstappen.nl from inside the app. Complete your application with an eligible provider, keep your new policy active past the cooling off period, and you'll receive cashback.
Important: Not all providers offer cashback. Before you start comparing, the app shows you which providers are eligible for cashback. If you choose a provider that's not on this list, you won't receive cashback.
What happens when you choose a provider
Depending on the provider, you'll either complete your application directly in the app, or you'll be redirected to the provider's website to finish there. Both options work the same way for your cashback.
Once you've applied with an eligible provider, you can track your request in the app: go to the Money tab, tap on the Subscriptions widget, and you'll find your pending request in the list. We'll also send you a confirmation email with your cashback details.
No confirmation email? If you didn't receive a cashback pending email, your chosen provider may not have been eligible for cashback. Check the table below to see which providers were eligible when you applied.
Typical timeline
Day 0: You choose a provider and complete your application.
Same day: Your request appears in your subscriptions overview with status pending.
Week 1-2: 14-day cooling off period.
Month 1-4: Insurer verifies your policy and confirms the cashback. As soon as we receive confirmation, we add the cashback to your account.
While you wait
Keep your policy active and avoid changes that could void the cashback.
Status still pending?
No need to contact us - we'll notify you automatically when we receive the approval or rejection from your insurer. This can take up to 4 months or longer.
Don't see your request?
If you completed an application but don't see it in your subscriptions overview, contact support with your policy confirmation so we can investigate.
